Carrots' 2023 Waistline Goal: 27 Inches (April Update)
In my quest to further reduce my waistline and lead a healthier lifestyle, I've recently decided to make some changes to my typical breakfast fare.
Before: 2 slices of wholemeal bread, 2 Large soft boiled eggs, Chia Seeds (1 tsp), Black Coffee
Current: 3 normal soft boiled eggs (cage free), Chia Seeds (1 tsp), Black Sesame Seeds (1 tsp), Flaxseeds (1 tsp), Black Coffee
The key difference is the elimination of carbohydrates. Wholemeal bread is ultimately a processed food. In addition, I believe the brand of Wholemeal bread that I purchased from the supermarket contains some preservatives. That explains why it's able to last for more than a week. I read somewhere that bread without preservatives has very short shelf lifespan.
I've also begin to reduce my frequency of dining out during dinner time. Thanks to my horrendous culinary skills and laziness, I usually make do with fried minced garlic with Broccoli and Spinach. I'll usually add a can of sardines or cook some spinach noodles/soba to accompany my green concoction.
Last week, I received a delightful surprise when my measuring tape read 28 inches! That is a 1/2 inch reduction from 1 month ago!
PS: I recently found a photo that provides a guide on the duration for steaming vegetables. Steaming is, in my opinion, a good way to retain much of the nutrients in vegetables. I usually steam sweet potatoes. However, I admit my favourite way to cook most vegetables is frying them in extra virgin olive oil.

Wow, 28 : )
